well to sum it up, i can see the delete icon when i am the visitor to this blog or any other blog
but when i create a blog, and sign in under the blogger name, i am not able to see delete icon against any name, including the comments made as the blog owner.
technically i must see a delete icon agains this name, when i sign in under gayathrigowri, but i cant :(

I guess they did it ensure free speech of visitors...This system has obvious flaws...But they have tried to do their best...

do the following step by step
1) go to blogger homepage
2) log in to blogger
3) click on your blog name
4) right click on the forth tab named "View Blog" and click open in a new window
5) after ur blog get loaded fully click the comments
6) that's it. u ll see that trashbox icon now.

fanta baby thanks. i did exactly what u said but still couldnt see it.
the worse thing is if i log in thru another id (wisedonkey which i now created for testing purpose) and post comments here, i can see delete button :(

ur blog shows javascript error(ie6) after loading. dont panic. just do one thing. go to templates. change ur template to new one(or the same template) but pick it from "new" template. then republish entire blog. now ull see the delete icon.
note: to delete comments, always first go to blogger website and then from there u go to ur blog - then only u will see the delete icon.
